We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician in Kewdale. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a microbiology, laboratory, food science, or quality assurance background looking to gain valuable hands-on industry experience.
Working closely with the onsite Microbiology and Quality teams, you will play a key role in product testing, sample preparation, data recording, and production line validation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect product samples from production areas for microbiological testing
- Prepare and place samples into incubators for analysis
- Assist with production line validation activities
- Prepare validation and microbiological testing samples
- Collect microbiological swab samples, rinse water samples, and finished product samples
- Prepare microbiological samples for external laboratory testing
- Maintain accurate chain of custody documentation and records
- Work alongside the onsite Microbiology Laboratory Technician to register samples and assist with result interpretation
- Compile and maintain spreadsheets in accordance with Quality Assurance requirements
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques
- Diploma of Laboratory Technology
- or Degree or qualification in:
- Microbiology
- Chemistry
- Food Technology
- Related scientific discipline
Experience & Skills
- Previous laboratory testing experience preferred
- Understanding of microbiological testing processes
- Experience within food manufacturing or laboratory environments is highly regarded
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices
- Strong Excel and spreadsheet management skills
- Excellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail
